go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee,
and there shall they see me.
193. The Soldiers Bribed

came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests
all the things that were done.

and had taken counsel,
they gave large money unto the soldiers,

by night,
and stole him [away] while we slept.

we will persuade him, and secure you.

And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth,
which was a prophet mighty in deed and word
before God and all the people:

delivered him to be condemned to death,

trusted that it had been he
which should have redeemed Israel:
and beside all this,
to day is the third day since these things were done.

certain women also of our company
made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;

they found not his body, they came, saying,
that they had also seen a vision of angels,
which said that he was alive.

197. Jesus Appears by the Sea of Galilee

to the disciples at the sea of Tiberias;
and on this wise shewed he [himself].

and Thomas called Didymus,
and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the [sons] of Zebedee,
and two other of his disciples.

a fishing.
They say unto him, We also go with thee.
They went forth, and entered into a ship immediately;
and that night they caught nothing.

[Jn] But when the morning was now come,
Jesus stood on the shore:
but the disciples knew not that it was Jesus.

[Jn] Then Jesus saith unto them, Children,
have ye any meat?
They answered him, No.

[Jn] And he said unto them, Cast the net
on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find.
They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it
for the multitude of fishes.

[Jn] Therefore that disciple whom Jesus

he girt [his] fisher's coat [unto him], (for he was naked,)

that Jesus shewed himself to his disciples,
after that he was risen from the dead.

He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.

because he said unto him the third time, Lovest thou me?
And he said unto him, Lord, thou knowest all things;
thou knowest that I love thee.
Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep.

[Jn] Verily, verily, I say unto thee,
When thou wast young,
thou girdedst thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest:
but when thou shalt be old,
thou shalt stretch forth thy hands,
and another shall gird thee,
and carry [thee] whither thou wouldest not.

[Jn] This spake he, signifying by what
death he should glorify God.
And when he had spoken this, he saith unto him, Follow me.

seeth the disciple whom Jesus loved* following;
which also leaned on his breast at supper, and said,
Lord, which is he that betrayeth thee?

he tarry till I come,

the brethren,
that that disciple should not die:
yet Jesus said not unto him, He shall not die; but,
If I will that he tarry till I come, what [is that] to thee?

and we know that his testimony is true.

the which, if they should be written every one,

in hell,
neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

of life;
thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance.

[Ac] Men [and] brethren, let me freely
speak unto you
of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried,
and his sepulchre is with us unto this day.

[Ac] Therefore being a prophet,
and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him,
that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh,
he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;

[Ac] he seeing this before spake of the
resurrection of Christ,
that his soul was not left in hell,
neither his flesh did see corruption.

we all are witnesses.

that God hath made that same Jesus,
whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

were pricked in their heart,
and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles,
Men [and] brethren, what shall we do?

[Ac] Then Peter said unto them,
Repent, and be baptized every one of you
in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

[Ac] For the promise is unto you, and
to your children,
and to all that are afar off,
[even] as many as the Lord our God shall call.

[Ac] And with many other words did he
testify and exhort, saying,
Save yourselves from this untoward generation.

word were baptized:
and the same day there were added [unto them]
about three thousand souls.
